Vision for the Future of the Hofbogen

In association with Hofbogen BV, in late 2008 Crimson Architectural Historians presented a vision for the future of the Hofbogen. In this presentation, entitled Toekomstvisie De Hofbogen, het langste gebouw van Rotterdam (A Vision for the Future of the Hofbogen, the longest building in Rotterdam), a new plan was put forward for the transformation of the Hofbogen and the background to it explained. The plan will then be brought to the attention of all the major partners (in the broadest sense of the word), meaning the representatives of the authorities and government, and the professional world, as well as those living around the Hofbogen and the tenants in the archway spaces. Several parties must have solid financial and substantive foundations in order to actively carry out the transformation. After all, this sort of transformation cannot be achieved without stakeholders. One of the aims of the ‘Vision for the Future’ is to arouse the enthusiasm of the partners and stakeholders and to bind them together in a collective project for the transformation of the top section and thereby also provide the foundations for the financial organisation of the project.
